      Cholesterol is found in animal fats. Coconut and other non-animal sources of fat are limited in their cholesterol composition. The saturated fats of coconut oil have been shown, in studies, to have a beneficial affect on cholesterol. The total cholesterol may rise but it is due to a positive shift in the elevation of HDL. This is the good for you version of cholesterol in our blood stream.
